Sixty-four players, one hall in Leicester, one champion. The Sikh FC 26 Championship is a football tournament played on a PS5, and it is free to enter — deliberately, so that nobody who wants to play is kept out by the price of a ticket.

Free still costs something, though. The hall, the consoles and the langar are paid for by the people who chip in, and this range is one of them: thirteen percent of every sale goes back to the championship. Tera tera — thirteen in Punjabi, and Yours, yours.

The kit is licensed by Sikh World Championships and made in-house at Vismaad Creatives, printed and packed in our own workshop, so the quality is ours to answer for. Buying it is not entry to the tournament — entry is free, and arranged with the championship itself.

For the sixty-four who play, everyone who turns up to watch them, and a day that stays free because someone bought a hoodie.
