The story behind this
Kaur means sovereign — princess, in her own right. It's the name Guru Gobind Singh Ji gave every Sikh daughter at Vaisakhi in 1699, and it was quietly radical: a girl's name would no longer depend on a father's or a husband's. She would stand as herself, equal to any Singh beside her. One family, no one above another.
Somewhere along the way — a new country, a school register, a form with too few boxes — that name often gets set aside for a family surname. It becomes a middle initial, or nothing at all.
This tee puts it back where a child can see it: bright, bold, spelled out in colour. Not a middle name to shorten — a title to grow into. Wear it to school, to the gurdwara, to camp, and let the question come: "why Kaur?" Every time it does, a daughter gets to answer.
Made for the little Kaurs who should know, early, exactly whose name they carry — and that it was always meant to be theirs alone.
