The story behind this

There's a moment every Punjabi child knows. You've done something small — or nothing at all — and a parent or grandparent looks at you and says it: "Aa, mere sher puttar." Come here, my lion-cub.

It's said to sons and daughters alike. In a parent's eyes a brave heart has no gender — a sher puttar is a sher puttar, and love was never one to check.

It isn't really about lions. It's a way of telling a child, before they're old enough to doubt it, that they are brave, that they are ours, that they carry something strong inside them. Said often enough, those four words become the voice a child grows up hearing in their own head.

That's what this design is. Not a slogan — an affirmation your child can wear. To school, to camp, to the gurdwara. A quiet daily reminder of who they already are.

We made Sher Puttar for the parents still saying it, and the children who'll say it to their own one day.
